We provide strategic employment and HR advice and support to assist with any issues you may encounter when managing people. This ranges from recruiting new staff, managing their performance and absence, through to them leaving the organisation and a whole range of things in between.
We regularly deliver employment and HR courses for parish and town councils and can also design and deliver bespoke courses tailored to your council’s needs.
Policies and documents
We offer all Hampshire ALC and BALC members access to statutory disciplinary and grievance policies and a standard employment contract template. To access these, please sign into the Member Area.
We can work with you to review and update your existing employment and HR policies and procedures or produce bespoke ones tailored to your councils’ requirements.
In addition to the statutory policies, we recommend all employing organisations have policies and procedures in place for Absence, Family Friendly Leave, Data Protection and a Code of Conduct.

Legal advice and support
You can access 1 hour’s free legal advice from Hampshire Legal Service per query for each LCPD member.
For your council to be successful you need the right people working for you. We can support you to manage your recruitment or restructuring process to ensure you recruit and retain high calibre people into roles that are right for them and your council. We can support with advertising vacancies, the interview process through to advice on terms and conditions and providing the necessary documentation.

HR strategic consultancy services
For more long-term planning, we can also advise you on your people strategy and any changes in employment law that may affect you, as well as support with projects and issues, such as recruitment, restructuring and writing employment policies. Prices can be agreed on a case-by-case basis using our consultancy fees.
