Managing Disciplinaries and Grievances

This course will develop skills for those tasked with dealing with disciplinary and grievance matters within their council. It is aimed at both both staff members in management roles and also councillors who are members of staffing (or similar) committees with responsibility for leading disciplinary and grievance matters, including hearing appeals. After attending the course you will understand the importance of having disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures in place and ensuring that these processes are applied fairly and consistently to support everyone in the workplace.

The course covers
- dealing with employee conduct,
- how to carry out investigations,
- managing disciplinary/grievance hearings
- dealing with appeals.
