We’re growing our Grounds Maintenance Team — come and join us!

Bursledon Parish Council is looking to recruit a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our in-house Grounds Maintenance team.

This is an exciting time to join the Council. The Parish Council is taking on responsibility for new areas of land and is looking to strengthen its team so we can continue improving and caring for the open spaces, play areas, cemeteries, sports pitches, allotments and outdoor facilities used by our community.

This is a practical, hands-on outdoor role for someone who enjoys working outside, takes pride in their work and wants to help keep local spaces safe, tidy and well maintained.

Duties will include:

  • grass cutting and strimming
  • hedge cutting and vegetation management
  • maintaining open spaces, cemeteries, play areas, sports pitches and allotments
  • litter picking and general site maintenance
  • using grounds maintenance tools, machinery and vehicles safely
  • working as part of a small, friendly team

    The ideal candidate will have/be:

We are looking for someone who is reliable, hard-working and practical. Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, grass cutting, strimming or similar outdoor work would be an advantage, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are also important.
