Salary: SCP 13-21- £15.06 – £17.18 per hour (depending on experience) – (£29064 - £33143 pro-rata based on 37.5 hours per week).
Hours:
Part-time, 12 hours per month (approximately 3-4 hours per week, flexible working arrangements).
Our council and the role:
Ashmansworth Parish Council is a small council (precept £6400 in 2026/27), meeting approximately 6 times per year. We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to serve as Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. This is a key role ensuring the smooth running of the Council’s business, compliance with statutory requirements, and effective communication with the community.
Duties will include:
- Prepare Agendas and Minutes for Council meetings.
- Advise the Council on governance and legal compliance.
- Manage correspondence and maintain accurate records.
- Act as Responsible Financial Officer (RFO)
- Monitor budgets, prepare financial reports, and ensure audit compliance.
- Maintain the Council’s website and noticeboards.
- Serve as the first point of contact for parishioners and external bodies.
- Support community projects and initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, website management).
- Financial management experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of local government procedures (desirable).
- CiLCA (desirable).
