Our council and the role:
Brockenhurst Parish Council is located within the New Forest National Park. The council employs a part-time Responsible Finance Officer, part-time assistant clerk and two part-time groundmen and wishes to recruit a new part time Parish Clerk.
Duties will include:
An interesting and challenging position where you would be supporting an active and community-focused Parish Council by providing guidance to Councillors on governance, ethical and procedural matters and ensuring all statutory functions and notices are conducted appropriately. Attendance at some evening meetings is required and occasional events.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Candidates should have a solid knowledge of Parish Council law and procedures. The successful candidate will be CiLCA qualified or required to achieve CiLCA within two years. The role requires a high level of literacy, IT, administration, staff management and communication skills. The council operates a cemetery and experience in this would be advantageous.
