Local Council Finance for New Clerks

An introductory session is for new Clerks in their first few months of the role and is designed to give to them an overview of a council's year, along with a basic understanding of the Responsible Finance Officer role.

Topics include where to start, what's the Practitioner's Guide and how to use it, roles and responsibilities, budget setting and precept, what is financial control and risk management, The Annual Governance & Accountability Return and who and what does Internal and External Audit do.

This course is aimed at Clerks and Officers new to their role.
