Location:

Home based.
One or two evening meetings a month in local village halls.

Salary:

£18 to £22 per hour dependent on experience.

Hours:

15 hours per week which can be flexible. One evening a month is required for the Parish Council meeting which is approximately 2 hours.

Our council and the role:

Itchen Valley Parish Council serves the Communities of Avington, Easton, Itchen Abbas & Martyr Worthy. 

We are currently looking for either an experienced Clerk or an enthusiastic administrator with an interest to obtain a Clerk qualification.

Duties will include:

• Administrative duties
• Raising agendas, taking minutes.
• Knowledge of standing orders and by-laws to advise the Council as and when needed.
• Liaising with associated government bodies and neighbouring Parish Councils.
• Managing finances and HMRC.
• Facilitating audits.
• Ad-hoc requirements based on the needs of the Parish.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Essential: Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, meticulous record keeping, ability to work independently as well as part of the Council.
Preferred:
Parish Council Clerk experience and qualifications.

25 days plus bank holiday per year pro-rata

Clerk qualification – optional and with terms of agreement.
